Firstly - A great big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! to
m_l_h!! I hope your day is absolutely fabulous! Ab Fab as it were. :D
Secondly, thank you to all of you wonderful flisters who responded to my last post. Each of you helped me feel much better that evening, as did giving the wee one a bubble bath. Nothing like a happy, splashing baby to cheer one up. :) I will try to respond soon.
Thirdly (?), I've nicked a meme from
phoebesmumand

I'm a snapdragon.
Apparently --- "Mischief is my middle name, but my first is friend. I am quite the prankster that loves to make other people laugh."
Today I feel as though I were in the middle of a prank. And I don't think it will end laughing. I took my dog Jaina (the one who ate butter) to the vet yesterday because of some unusual (or more so) behaviour. Turns out she might have dementia, or have had a stroke, or perhaps is having seizures. The vet is not sure but she is leaning toward dementia. As Dr. Kate was outlining the diagnostic options for each of these ailments I felt as though I were in an episode of House. We're going with the 'try this treatment and wait & see' approach. I just don't think we can swing the expense of an MRI etc. And there's no guarantee that it would show us exactly what the problem is anyway. She was so wonderful, spending an hour with me explaining everything, and is much more relaxed and open than other vets I've delt with. She's going to outline a few treatment plans for us, diet, medications, holistics. Then we'll decide what is best. I'm not sure if I want to add more meds to the mix as Jaina is already on 3 types of meds for an ongoing leg pain problem.
She (Jaina) had quite the episode last night, and again this morning. She has been wandering into rooms looking confused and not knowing where she is. She is crying to go out and then just stands on the back deck. She's sniffing the air alot and objects that have been around forever. She's crying for no apparent reason. It's all very strange. So far there has been no aggressive behaviour, but we're to keep a very close eye on her around the boys. No leaving them unattended even if she's in the other room.
Thanks for listening. Now I'm off to clean the house for company. *HUGS*
