Luna!

This morning, while I was packing up my stuff to leave for work, Luna was rolling around on the coffee table being adorable.   I couldn't resist taking a picture.

Picture )

She's nine months old already!  Getting to be a solid little girl.  :D   So soft and floofy.    She wants desperately to go outside and explore but we have so many toms in the neighbourhood I fear she might get hurt.   So, instead,  she sits in the window and chatters at the birds or sits at the door meowing at me to please, please mummy let her out.

Behind the barn, down on my knees,

Sing Polly wolly doodle all the day,
I thought I heard A chicken sneeze.
Sing Polly wolly doodle all the day.

What were they doing behind the barn? On their knees? Perhaps it's my slashy leanings but my mind goes instantly into the gutter.

Children's music is quite fascinating actually. So many phrases long lost to everyday conversation. And many are quite violent too (ie Three Blind Mice). Although there are 'clean' versions now available. They just sound silly to me.

I had an idea, long times ago, to publish a book of skipping songs from across Canada. I really should follow through on these impulses.

Have you heard about Dreamwidth?

1. Of course the day that I'm early enough to stop and get a coffee is the day that Dave swings by work to bring me a coffee. I have two coffees! :D Well, I have one now as I've drunk one already.

2. I am posting this from my Dreamwidth account. I think. I'm attempting to post this from my Dreamwidth account. Same username of course. How else would you all find me? Plus I'm crap at thinking up usernames. Look at this one for example. Been a long time since I was a girl.

3. For those interested, I made a cross-stitch update over thisaway...

4. I'm feeling much, much better today. Thanks for the gentle hugs. :) My RMT worked miracles and the chiropractor and muscle relaxant sure helped too!

5. And just to be consistant...

Dragons!

Witty title

Here I am. Have to figure out all the ins and outs, how to cross post, how to import all my journal settings... I know I've seen 'how to' posts about these things. :D

I wanna be sedated...

1. I am taking a 'mental health' day today.   I'm so stressed and tense that I've pulled my jaw out of alignment.  Boy howdy does that hurt.   Haven't been able to eat much the last few days because of it.    Chewing is not fun!    I'm going to call the chiropractor and the RMT to see if either can schedule me in today.

2. Of course today, when I have a day to myself, I have cramps.  *shakes fist weakly*   Bloody nuisance.

3. I see some Robaxacet in my future.

4. In other news, I made a cross stitch post over thisaway.

And, in conclusion, dragons.

1. This morning, for no reason that I could discern, I woke up with Scat Man in my head.   I have not heard this song in years, that I'm aware.   Very strange.   Still, better that than "There's a Hole in my Bucket," which has been on mental repeat for 3 days.

2. Question pour vous - When posting my cross stitchy stuff, I'm unsure whether to re-post the entry in it's entirety from the community or just a link.   What do you guys prefer?

3.  It's sunny today.  And ---(wait for it)--- 19C/66F!   I think that winter just might be finished.   (Mind you, there was snow on the car yesterday morning) The daffodils and scilia are blooming and the grass is greening up.    Yay for spring!

4.  JX will be so excited to see all the new varieties of dragon eggs available.   He's been bugging me for more for the last few days.

5. Breakfast was extra early this morning so I've been hungry for over an hour already.   Who said we have to wait for noon?  I'm gonna eat it now!!!! /rebel

(When googling 'scatman' there was a rather sketchy looking link regarding defecating...  o_O )

For my LOTR Peeps.

I saw this on [livejournal.com profile] beadattitude 's journal and I just had to share with all of you.   This is incredible!

It's blowing me away! The costumes, the scenery, the music...    Takes me right back to that wonderful feeling all things LOTR used to give me.

The Hunt For Gollum website.  Lots of photos and tidbits to browse through.   :D

Happiness Meme - Day 8

I just spotted three wild turkey hens strolling across my front yard without a care in the world. I love living in the country. ♥

Happy Earth Day everyone!

Happiness Meme - Day 6

A few minutes ago I told JX that it was time to complete his reading journal.   He proceeded to run around the house ("Ready! Set! GOOO!") for 2 minutes like he was running a race (with commentary).   After that was done he told me he was too out of breath to do his story.

"How long will it take for your breath to come back?"  I asked him.

"Thirty-six hours,"  he replied.

Only 5 years old and already finding excuses to not do his homework.   At least they're humourous reasons!

*facepalm*

Happiness Meme - Day 5

Today's happiness brought to you by the word "hug" and JA's repeated use of it all day.   :D  It's his newest word and it was accompanied by arms held high and a big smile.   What could I do but comply?   Over and over again.

*Hugs you all*

Happiness Meme - Day 4

Tonight my father was the first inductee into the OUA Womens West Hall of Fame.   Mouthful you say?  Yes indeed!    It means that he has been honoured for his 35 years of refereeing university women's bastketball and mentoring countless other referees.

Happiness Meme - Day 1

Tagged by no one that I'm aware of. Just wanted to remind myself of happy things- a Happiness Meme!

Rules:
1. Post about something that made you happy today, even if it's just a small thing.
2. Do this every day for eight days.
3. Tag eight of your friends to do the same. (You're tagged if you wish)

*************************************************

You may have seen this loads of times all over the internet already,  but it made me so very happy and I want to keep it close.

From "Britain's Got Talent,"  the wonderful Susan Boyle.  I've watched it numerous times today, and each time I get goosebumps!  And perhaps a little teary eyed too.

Also, [personal profile] m_l_h  , I can see why you love Ant and Dec so much.  I just wanted to scoop them up and put them in my pocket!

I even had witty subject lines too...

For a week and a half I've been mentally composing posts but never actually posting them. Seemed too much effort to sit down and type things out in a semi-logical way. I think I need to start taking ginko biloba or something because the brain, she no working. I don't do much but sit and stitch these days. Well, there's laundry, and dishes, and cooking (no cleaning though - okay, not entirely true, I did scrub the bathroom today) and singing, and dancing, and reading stories, and tucking little people in at night. But grown-up stuff? Not happening.

It's very odd, this lack of energy and enthusiasm. This is usually my slightly manic time of year. Late fall and winter I shut down, spring and summer I'm going dusk 'til dawn. Not this year. Maybe once the weather settles a bit? Or finances are a bit sorted? Or we have some concrete dates on house stuff? One can hope.

We did not go to Virginia for Easter weekend. It seemed a bit frivolous when we're trying to build a house this year to spend the money. Not that it would have been a lot of money (I'm a very frugal traveler) but it seemed smarter to stash it away instead. Perhaps next year.

Jordan is interested in the dragons again. We caught some spring ones (and promptly forgot to post them. Eep!)

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!

Ummmm.... I dunno

1. Sometimes I just don't know what to put in the subject line.

2. The salesman who was in a car accident in February is doing better.   He's been transferred to a facility that specializes in brain injury and rehab.   He now recognizes his family and is talking some.    We took pictures of people in the office to send over with his wife in hopes of triggering some more memories.

This is me, hard at work!  ;p  The glamour of the chicken industry.   It's dazzling.
Picture )

3. Dave, the boys, and I are heading to the Maple Syrup Festival in Holstein tomorrow.   I think the boys will be quite interested after 'helping' Oma and Grandpa make maple syrup the last couple of weeks.   We'll see what a real sugar shack looks like.  My folks are doing it out in the open over a bonfire.   Pioneer style.  :D

4. The Final Four is on Saturday as well.   I think I will indulge my inner basketball fan and watch a game.   It's been so long.

5.  I've made another cross stitch update post over here.   Have a boo if you're interested.

*poke poke*

1. Who gave permission for the percussion section to take up residence in my head?   *boom boom boom boom*   Ohboy is this a humdinger of a headache.   Better than cramps?  Right?

2. We sat down with the sales and design fellow we've been talking to and tweaked the house plans.  We should find out costs on Sunday.  *fingers crossed*    They have an excellent financing incentive on right now that we'd do well to take advantage of.  *everything crossed*

3. Birthday potluck went off without a hitch on Saturday.  Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and no arguing.   Very pleasant visit all around. :D   And I managed to finish the biscornu in time!   Pictures on Wednesday.

4. Sunday at the spa was wonderful.    I finally used my Christmas gift certificate from Dave and the boys.   It was lovely to be pampered for 4 hours.    Then home again for an evening of cooking, dishes and laundry. :P
